What does Skalata Ventures do?

Skalata Ventures supports Australian entrepreneurship. We have established a fully-integrated seed investment program to help early stage companies prepare to scale and grow into significant, sustainable and transformative businesses.

What is Skalata Ventures’ purpose? 

A critical stage for entrepreneurs is when they are preparing to scale their businesses. We provide funding and bespoke support to these early stage companies to grow their customer base and help build the infrastructure to prepare them to scale.

What is the Skalata Ventures seed investment program?

The Skalata Ventures seed investment program is a 6-month customised program that helps early stage companies navigate the challenges they face in order to grow. Our companion investment fund will provide up to $250,000 funding for each company in the program.

What makes Skalata Ventures different?

Our customisable program is based on international best practice and extensive research across the Australian start-up community. Our program brings together a holistic group of stakeholders including business leaders, philanthropists, universities, corporates, government and investors, making it the first fully-integrated seed investment program in Australia.

When is the program starting?

The 2019 seed program will commence in June and run through to November.

Applications for the 2019 program will be open from 1 April to 22 April.

Who is eligible for the program?

We’re looking for companies at the angel/seed stage that have built momentum in their business but are not yet ready for venture capital.

To be eligible for the program, your company will need to satisfy the below requirements:

  • Proven traction (primarily in terms of revenue, but this can include successful trials or pilots - the more progress you’ve made, the better your chances of being accepted)

  • Founders must be working full-time on the company

  • Founders must be based in Melbourne for the duration of the program (June 2019 to November 2019)

How many companies will be accepted into the program?

10 companies will be accepted into our 2019 program.
